Week One (4/03/19)
I started to write the script for 'The Lonefret', and went through multiple drafts and still have more work to do. In addition, I researched into films that inspired the ideas for the script such as Crossroads (1985), Bone Tomahawk (2016) and A Few Dollars More (1964). These films have helped me develop and improve the script to give it more substance and depth. Alongside this, I also started to collect the outfits needed and also a collection of props.
Week Two (11/03/19)
I finished the script, after making many fundamental changes to the story and tone. I expended into doing further research on specifically the role of a director, I learnt a lot from David S. Sandberg's mini-masterclass on directing 'Annabel: Creation'. In addition, I delved into the essentially of blocking a scene.
Week Three (18/03/19)
Due to the script being complete, I decided to search for suitable locations that compliment the scenes in the script. I know someone who owns and trains a horse, therefore I asked and got permission for their horse to be in the film. The horse could only be used in one location, therefore all of the locations had to be found in the areas accessible by a horse which was a challenge.
Week Four (25/03/19)
I decided to focus on the art department element of production this week, such as collecting costumes and props. This included decorating props, such as the pocket-watch; My dad painted an electric guitar on the cover of the pocket-watch. In addition, my dad and myself painted the buttons on the main characters shirt. In conclusion, all props and outfits for the film are now complete. The film is now ready to shoot.
Week Five (01/04/19)
Due to majority of pre-production being complete, I decided to delve into possible problems we could encounter on set. This can all be found under the 'Problem Solving' tab, I went into detail about any possible issues regarding theoretical and practical problems. Therefore, on-set if any problems arise they can be easily overcome due to them being pre-determined.
